Up Ahead: Historical tour of the Gyeongsan Cobalt Mine

flyer-picture.png

The mine was exploited for Japan’s military efforts during the colonial period. Then, immediately after the outbreak of the Korean war, 3,500 people suspected of being North Korean sympathizers were executed and their bodies dumped into the mine. Over 60 years later, the struggle to reveal the truth and bring to close this historical tragedy continues. We will also be participating in a memorial for the victims in front of the mine and learn about the ongoing efforts to bring history to justice.
