Press Conference for the International People’s Action Denouncing One Year of the Trump Regime

Hello. My name is Hwang Jeongeun, and I am the general secretary of the International Strategy Center.

After the first year of the Trump regime, we have gathered here today to place Trump in the International People’s Court as the accused. This is a space to expose, denounce, and judge the crimes of Trump, the Trump administration, and U.S. imperialism — crimes that include the destruction of democracy, violations of human rights, the waging of wars, complicity in genocide, and the infringement upon the sovereignty of nations — all through the power of the world’s peoples.

At today’s International People’s Court, we will hear testimonies sent from abroad, as well as statements from various sectors and communities here at home, each bearing witness to Trump’s crimes. I will briefly address just two of his recent outrages.

On January 15, the U.S. State Department released its “2026–2030 Strategic Plan,” outlining its foreign policy direction and implementation strategy for the next five years. In this plan, the U.S. formally adopted the Donroe Doctrine as official terminology, revealing its imperial ambition to dominate the Americas. The document states that under the “new Donroe Doctrine”, the United States will subdue so-called anti-American and “rogue” states and build powerful new security and economic partnerships with aligned countries to establish absolute dominance in the Western Hemisphere. This is nothing less than a declaration that, wherever U.S. interests are at stake, it will not hesitate to continue destroying democracy, violating human rights, and carrying out illegal invasions.

Furthermore, after invading Venezuela in violation of the UN Charter, President Donald Trump officially signed measures withdrawing the United States from 66 international organizations — 31 within the UN system and 35 outside of it. At the same time, he sent invitations to more than 60 countries for a so-called “Peace Committee” that he is promoting. He stated that any country that pays 1 billion dollars could obtain a lifetime board seat. Although decisions in this body are said to be made by majority vote, with each member state holding one vote, President Trump — as lifetime chair — would hold the final authority. One year into Trump’s presidency, battlefields have expanded, and the global economic crisis has deepened under economic warfare waged against the world. A “Peace Committee” chaired for life by a man who has threatened and undermined global peace cannot and must not be tolerated.

We thank you for standing with us at this historic moment, where the people of the world come together to denounce and judge Trump and the U.S. imperialism he represents. We ask you to continue this struggle with us.

No to war! No to Trump! No to U.S. imperialism!

Stop destroying democracy!

Stop human rights violations!
